ANNOUNCEMENTS
Information is provided in many different formats. It is the student's responsibility to listen to all announcements and read all notices. Announcements will be read in class each day at the start of Period 3. Daily notices and weekly calendars are posted in each classroom and the main hallway. A copy is faxed to SRVRTC. It is the responsibility of the students to keep themselves informed.
ASSEMBLIES & CLASS MEETINGS
Students will report to their regularly scheduled class for attendance. Upon an announcement over the P.A. system, students will be escorted by their teacher to the meeting. Teachers will be seated with their students at all times and escort them back to class at the conclusion of the program. Schedules may be changed periodically to eliminate repeated interruption of academic work.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
If any group of students wishes to form a club or activity (i.e., Science Club, intramurals, etc.), they should contact the principal, who will help interested persons understand the procedures necessary to begin the new club or activity.
FIELD TRIPS
All students going on a field trip must complete a permission form and turn it in to the advisor or teacher organizing the field trip 24 hours prior to the morning the trip. It is the student's responsibility to follow the rules established by the chaperones and bus driver. A Stevens High School and Claremont School District policies and procedures are in effect. On field trips a transportation must be provided by approved School District vehicles. The principal has the right to deny student field trip privileges for just cause.
SCHOOL DANCES
The following rules were developed by a "dance committee" and approved by faculty at a November 14, 1995 meeting.
Only students of Stevens are allowed to attend dance unless guests are approved prior to the dance: limit 1 guest per student and no one who is younger than freshman.
Once a student leaves the dance, he/she cannot b readmitted, and he/she cannot remain on school property .
No one can enter the dance to look for someone unless the dance has ended and it is a parent.
No student shall be allowed to enter the dance if there i any evidence of alcohol or drug usage.
If a student is asked to leave the dance because of drug or alcohol use he/she must be released to a sober adult or the police.
All music that is played at the dance must be approved by the dance advisor before it can be played.
All students must remain on the main floor of the gym or in the cafeteria. The side door to the gym must not be used and the locker rooms must be locked . All the halls that lead from the dance area must be blocked off.
No one will be admitted to the dance once the dance has been going for more than 1 1/2 half hours .
A notice will be given 10 minutes before the end of a dance so students may start to call for rides.
With supervision, students should be allowed to use school phones in the gym area to call for rides.
No student shall be allowed to enter the dance if he/she has been suspended out of school (OSS) or if he/she was not i n school the day of the dance.
Only appropriate dancing will be allowed (i.e., no moshing and no inappropriate, suggestive, or violent dancing).
Dances shall be held for no longer than 3 hours.
No student shall be allowed to enter the dance with any liquid refreshment.
The gym shall be decorated in such a manner that the decorations cannot be easily removed by the students.

STUDENT ELECTIONS
Students may run
for offices through an election process. Class Officers include President,
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Student Council and Student/
Faculty Senate members are also elected positions. Election times
and procedures will be announced.
